The Path to Success
½ð²©ŠÊ˜·³Ç’s Essential Studies program provides support for university-wide learning outcomes common to all ½ð²©ŠÊ˜·³Ç bachelor’s degree programs, to ensure that all ½ð²©ŠÊ˜·³Ç students are prepared for leadership in solving complex problems in an interconnected world.
The Essential Studies program consists of pathways that support students’ development in six institutional student learning outcomes (ISLOs), and signature experiences in which students tackle complex challenges that require them to apply all learning outcomes.
Pilot Implementation

The Essential Studies program was endorsed by Faculty Senate and by ½ð²©ŠÊ˜·³Ç’s Executive Staff in April 2016. Implementation occurred in Fall 2018.
Details of ½ð²©ŠÊ˜·³Ç's 2013-16 General Education Review and the final report of the General Education Review Task Force are archived for those interested in the review process.
