How do you maintain the product?Ignore it.  On the exterior, it may show minimal signs of ageing over time, much like natural stone. Actually a certain amount of it compliments the look of the product.  Since it is totally non-porous and does not absorb moisture, deep, destructive mildew is not a problem.   That is not to say that it will never have some surface mildew, but a certain amount within the relief of the surface seems to give it more dimension, and natural sunlight will generally keep surface mildew in check.  Maintenance is seldom an issue.  Should you wish to repaint it with, you may also wish to contact Safari Stone to order our special blend of paint used in production.

Occasional Cleaning:  Use of a mild solution of soap and water is always okay. Non-abrasive cleaners such as 409, Fantastic, Mr. Clean or Lysol in solution will also do the trick.  A mild solution of sodium tri-phosphate in water will also do fine outdoors, should you discover excessive mildew or green mold buildup (usually only on the north side of the building).   Just be sure to avoid any contact with such aggressive solvents as MEK, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, lacquer thinner, alcohol, gasoline and the like.

How is it repaired? It takes a heavy impact to damage Safari Stone, about the same force as would damage wood.  Often dents and holes blend right in to the heavy surface relief of the product, but in the unlikely event that there is an actual break, the product may be easily glued back together, by bonding the two broken surfaces together with our installation adhesive.  Any further surface flaws which may need repair usually are taken care of with a dab of color matched grout, blended in, using a finger.

WarrantyThe product carries a basic, one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.  In exterior use under extreme climate conditions, there may be a certain amount of natural expansion and contraction in the product, which may result in some minor cracks or separation at the block joints or connections to the building.  This problem very rarely exists in joints in which screws have been used.  Any small joint cracks are easily repaired using a small quantity of our Safari Stone Grout.   Such joint cracking is not covered by the warranty.   Warranty is voided if product is pressure washed.
