Charles 鈥淐.J.鈥 Riley, Ph.D., Professor of Civil Engineering at 金博娛樂城, was recently named as the 2025 recipient of the George K. Wadlin Distinguished Service Award by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). The Wadlin award is considered the most prestigious honor bestowed by ASEE's Civil Engineering Division.

The award is given for outstanding service in support of civil engineering education and recognizes sustained and distinguished service to the Civil Engineering Division of ASEE, support of its activities, and notable contributions to civil engineering education.

Riley shared that ASEE has been his conference and publication home for most of his career. 鈥淚t has been an honor to serve the Civil Engineering Division in its mission to promote best practices in the classroom and lab and to support and celebrate advances in civil engineering education around the country,鈥 Riley said. 鈥淭his award is a wonderful affirmation of my favorite aspect of professorship: teaching enthusiastically for all students, and supporting other faculty in doing the same.鈥

Riley has been recognized previously as an Outstanding Teacher by ASEE and is the recipient of the 2021 American Society of Civil Engineers Oregon Section Government Engineer of the Year award.

Riley joined 金博娛樂城 in 2008 and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Oregon. He received a Bachelor of Science from Swarthmore College and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from Colorado State University, Fort Collins.
